Graveyard dirt is commonly used in Samhain rituals to honour the dead or during tarot readings to assist with communication. It can also be used at crossroads when trying to decide between paths. Some use it in the garden to pay respect to the life cycle and encourage growth. Other uses include home protection or as a symbol of new beginnings.

A little goes a long way, a pinch or a small sprinkle will achieve the results needed. Graveyard dirt has a myriad of uses, but it’s not unreasonable to expect at least a couple of uses from each vial.
Graveyard dirt is used mostly for ancestral work, protection, and cursing, depending on the intent and the spirit it's connected to. We always often leave offerings or payments to the spirit associated with the graveyard from which the dirt is taken, ensuring respect and balance. Most of our graveyard dirt is associated with the workings of Hecate. You may also use this dirt in necromantic rites to call on the dead, or to have the spirits of the dead watch over you.
