The murderous Powrie, a demon of flesh and blood from the Scottish Borders, is known to haunt ramshackle buildings and abandoned structures. It is most commonly known as the ‘redcap’ as it soaks its cap in the blood of its prey, then wears this gory prize as a trophy.

Reported sightings of this creature describe it as a short, muscly old elf with long pointed fangs, bony fingers with yellowed claws, dark eyes the size of saucers, and oily black hair tied in a braid. It lures unaware hikers to its domain simply through their ignorance of the ‘hidden realm’, and once inside stones them to death with wicked speed.

Survivors claim the Powrie can be driven away by reading a passage from the Bible or by the brandishing of a crucifix, which cause it to howl in pain before bursting into flames, leaving behind a fanged tooth.
